Flamingo Crossings Protest

After successfully gaining media attention from our first protest in the spring and making progress towards our goal of opening the connection of Sawgrass Bay Boulevard and Flemings Road in 2025, we are ready to bring the fight to Orange County and to Disney!

We decided upon Flamingo Crossings for several reasons: the location will provide more visibility being one of the main ones. But another roadblock to the road being built is that Disney has not yet agreed to provide Right-of-Way easements to the county near the corner of Avalon Road and Western Way, so we want to bring the fight to them and show them the people they are blocking.

Finally, we want to make a statement: the concrete barrier is the only thing blocking the people who make Orange County run - nurses, teachers, hospitality workers, service industry employees, Disney cast members - from affordable housing. A…
